Cherish for Maja Design

Hi everyone, I hope you all had a wonderful Easter. I definitely enjoyed my long weekend filled with lots of crafting and relaxing.
Today I have a new layout to share with you for Maja Design
This is using the gorgeous pastel colours in the Vintage Spring Basics and Vintage Summer Basics collections

On this layout I have used the papers:  9th of April from the Vintage Spring Basics Collection, plus 1904  1934, and  1924  from the Vintage Summer Basics Collection. I cut the paper into strips and used all four pieces as my background then I used the left over pieces to layer under my photo.
On my background I used Gelato's in Snow Cone,  Fig and Strawberry through a stencil, and then  I used a word stencil with modeling paste.  Next I used a brick stamp with embossing ink and teal embossing powder.  I also used this same embossing powder on the Mesh chipboard which I tucked in behind my layers,  then a pale purple embossing powder on the chipboard word Cherish.
I embellished my layout with lace, resin, gems and of course loads of flowers.

We have some absolutely beautiful scrapbook projects for you to see today !!
Here are the creations I made with this gorgeous March kit

For this layout I used the Prima Tales of You & Me papers: Notre Jardin Secret and Notre Amour Sera a Jamais. As well as the Prima Tales of You & Me Ephemera Pack, the Chipboard Pack and the Zipper from the main Kit. I have also used the Prima Tales of You & Me Brads from the Embellishment add on and the Prima Tales of You & Me Flowers from the Flower add on kit

To start my layout I cut a V in the Notre Jardin Secret paper then rolled back the sides of the V to adhere the zipper. From the Notre Amour Sera a Jamais Paper I fussy cut the flower images and glued them to either side of the zipper, then I stuck the rest of this paper to fill in under the V cut out.
I stuck in my photo then used the Ephemera pieces to arrange behind the photo.
I added a little script stencilling to the background and placed on alot of flowers from the kit and a few leaves from my home stash, then I finished off with some liquid pearls

Next up is the layout I made using the March Sketch as inspiration.

I have used the Prima Tales of You & Me Papers Belles Melodies d'amour, Contes de Toi et Moi and Beaute Cachee for this layout.
On my background I used the Finnabair Acrylic Paint in Vintage Rose with a sponge and put it through a floral stencil, this just gives a lovely delicate pattern to the background.  Next I mixed the Memory Hardware powder with light paste and applied this through a flourish stencil. Both these mediums are from the mediums add on kit
I layered papers to go under my photo and added in the Prima Tales of You & Me Ephemera pack, chipboard pieces from the main kit and flowers from the flower add on kit..
I primed the Blue Fern My Bike chipboard piece(from the main kit) with white gesso before I coloured it with the Vintage Rose paint,  then I added a little brown distress in to the edges.
I finished off the layout with ribbon, twine, resin frames and liquid pearls which came from my home stash.

Here this what this month sketch looks like

In this month main kit we got this beautiful wooden fan as an off the page project.
My daughter really wanted to keep this fan for herself so I decorated in a way that it could still be opened and closed and she could use it as a fan.
This was very easy to make, here are the steps I used to make it
Step 1: Apply a coat of white gesso with a sponge
Step 2: Apply the Finnabair Acrylic Paint in Vintage Rose with a paint brush.  This doesn't have to be perfect,  if a little white is showing it gives more of a shabby look
Step 3: Dry brush on the Memory Hardware powder to random areas
Step 4: Tie a pink and a cream ribbon to the bottom of the Prima Tales Of You & Me vine.
Step 5: Bulk up the vine with cream roses and brown blossoms.
Step 6: Adhere the vine to one edge of the fan and you're all done

Also I have the Prima mini album which came in the Project add on kit for March.
I have made a video tutorial for this album......but unfortunately due to video camera malfunctions I was not able to video the whole process :(
To make my mini album close I had to remove 5 of the inside pages, which only left me with 3 pages to decorate......this is the downside to heavily embellishing.

Here is my video:

Products used:
March Main Kit: Prima Tales of You & Me papers,  Prima Tales of You & Me Ephemera,  Prima Tales of You & Me Chipboard, Prima Vintage Emporium Flowers, and Darice adhesive lace.
March Flower add on Kit: Prima Tales of You & Me flowers
March Embellishment add on Kit: Prima Tales of You & Me Brads, Chipboard piece, Tape measue ribbon.
March Mediums add on Kit: Finnabair Acrylic Paint in Vintage Rose
March Project add on Kit: Prima Mini Album, Prima Vintage Emporium 6x6 paper pad, Prima Vintage Emporium flowers, Prima Vintage Emporium Ephemera and  Prima Metal bookmark.

From my own stash I used: Prima Resin frame, Seam Binding Ribbon, Metal chains, Prima tag pad, Twine, Metal latch, Liquid pearls and leaves.

And finally I have recipe book cover to share, this was made for the SGC on the forum which this month as a baking theme

The base for this is the adhesive glitter sheet from the Embellishment add on kit, then I cut my left over Tales of You & Me collection paper to layer on top. For the recipe I used and image from Pinterest which I reversed and printed out from the computer. Next I transferred this image onto white cardstock using gel medium, this makes the image look even more vintage.
I used the Prima doll stamp 'Rita' with the 6x6 Vintage Emporium paper pad from the Project add on kit. Under all my layers I have tucked in the Blue Fern gate chipboard pieces (from the Embellishment add on kit) which I coloured the the Blue Fern Embossing powder in Cotton Candy and 14 Karat. To embellish I used the flowers from the Flower add on kit, Prima Tales of You & Me chipboard from the Main kit and Vintage Emporium ephemera from the Project add on kit.

Vintage Cards For Maja Design

Hi, today I have some cards to share which I have made for Maja Design. I had some pieces of the Vintage Summer Basics paper left over from a previous project so I decided that they were perfect to be made into cards.
These papers are so pretty that I didn't do anything to them, I just embellished them with some flowers, doilies, lace, ribbon, pearls and chipboard.

I hope this inspires you keep your paper scraps and create some cards
I used the Vintage Summer Basic Papers 1908, 1910, 1922 and 1925

Thanks for visiting

My March Shares For Blue Fern Studios

Hi, today I have my March projects for Blue Fern Studios. These are featuring the newest Blue Fern Studios paper collections Serendipity and Courtship Lane. They are both SO gorgeous

My first layout is made using this months Sketch featuring the Courtship Lane Collection

Here is the March sketch

I started this layout by cutting strips of the paper to place on my background, next I mixed the Grape glitter and purple micro beads with gel medium and added this mix through a stencil.  I coloured the Circle Groups with the Oatmeal embossing powder.  I glued this to my page and added glitter, micro beads and glass beads into the circle holes.

I added some random stamping with the Halftone and Essential Textures  stamps.
I coloured the Dare To Dream chipboard piece with three embossing powders (Oatmeal,  Mystic Plum and  Iris) to give and ombre look to it.

I embellished this layout with flowers,  lace,  twine,  resin and gems

Blue Fern Studios Products Used:
Courtship Lane Collection
Papers: Royal Street,  Main Street,  East Plaza
Chipboard: Circle Groups,  Dare To Dream
Embossing Powder: Oatmeal,  Mystic Plum,  Iris
Glitter: Grape
Stamps: Halftone and Essential Textures

My Second layout is using the Serendipity Collection

I prepared my base paper (Anticipation) with clear gesso before I used modeling paste for texture.  While the paste was still wet I applied the embossing powders Seven Seas and Ginger to add colour to the paste.

Next I added colour with sprays in blue, teal and beige tones.  To finish off my background I added brown distress ink through a flourish stencil and added random stamping with stamps Halftone and Forever

I cut the Blue Fern Frame to size and coloured the two larger pieces with the embossing powders in Seven Seas, Ginger,  Breeze and Sea Mist. For the two smaller pieces of the frame that were left over and my title Peace I coated them with white gesso and added colour with brown distress ink.
To embellish the layout I used flowers,  buttons,  metal flowers,  glass pebbles and ribbon.

Blue Fern Studios Products Used:
Serendipity collection
Papers: Anticipation, Calling Cards, Contemplation,  Imagination
Chipboard: Blue Fern Frame, Peace from Good Vibes Word Set
Embossing powders: Seven Seas, Ginger,  Breeze,  Sea Mist
Imagine Ink Spray: Sky
Stamps: Halftone and Forever

And finally today I have two cards I made with the Courtship Lane Collection Papers, and two of my favourite chipboard pieces that came with the Serendipity Collection.
Sometimes I think the chipboard pieces are too stunning to be hidden amongst a layout and that they need to be featured (in this case on a card).

For this card I used the Chipboard Piece Gazebo, which I coloured with the Embossing Powders Snow and  Ginger. The image on the Courtship Lane paper Lovers Lane fit perfectly inside the Gazebo.

On my second card I made the Couture chipboard piece as the feature. I coloured this with the Embossing powders Snow,  Cotton Candy,  Fuchsia, Lilac and Mystic Plum

Blue Fern Studios Products Used:

Papers: Lovers Lane,  Town Gossip,  East Plaza
Chipboard: Couture and Gazebo
